Featured Photography Guides

The idea for these guides came out of frustration, honestly. My wife and I took a trip to Quebec City and Montreal, and when I started researching photography locations I ran into a wall. Searching "photography in Montreal" or "photography in Quebec City" turned up local photographers and tour operators, which wasn't what I was after at all. I wanted to know where to show up, what lenses to pack, and what time of day to be there. Flickr gave me some inspiration but it was hit or miss. Google Maps helped a little but not enough to build a real plan around because Google photos associated around a physical location can be very arbitrary.

So I started building the kind of short guides I wished I had found. These are a work in progress and I'm adding to them as I go, but the goal is simple - if you're a photographer heading somewhere new, particularly around the San Francisco Bay Area, and you want to make the most of your time, I want these to give you a head start. Vacation time is valuable and hauling camera gear halfway across the world means you're serious about coming home with great shots. Hopefully these guides help you do exactly that.
